Hey Willie, you have a great radio show and TV show! Unfortunately I missed much of the eye to eye this morning, but have since heard of what went on with Hooton. My main question is, with other TV/radio personalities being booted from their jobs for abuse off the screen, how can any responsible media employer offer Hooton any employment in the future after his disgusting behaviour this morning? I would be ashamed of any media outlet that had the nerve to hav Hooton on their show again after eye to eye today. I am guessing though that Bill Ralston, Hooton's mate, (and maybe his twin?) will think it is a huge joke, and be making up every excuse in the book for Hooton, if not egging him on. Winston Peters and NZ First, including their supporters, have had to put up with constant abuse on the radio from hosts for the last few months now. I, for one, am sick and tired of it (by the way, no Im not in my 70s, im 41 - the same age as many other NZ First supporters, despite the medias constant attempt to paint the supporters as only the elderly). After all NZ First has done for this country, which is arguably more than any other political party, and this is the thanks they get? If reasonable NZ voters have any sense at all this election, they will vote against the major parties, and give their vote to NZ First as a way of saying 'enough is enough';

Your programme this morning would have been fantastic if you hadn't had that extremely rude Mathew Hooten on your show. Barry Soper didn't agree with Winston but at least he gave him a chance to talk. Mathew came away looking like an idiot. Go Winston!!

Wootton's presence on your programme today was a 'waste of space' and he offered no constructive contribution to the issues. Anything he said was coloured by his apparent disrespect and obvious dislike for Winston Peters and his adolescent behaviours, snide comments and lack of impulse control clearly demonstrated immaturity. He behaved like a petulant kid who constantly needed to be put in his place (which Peters did) and sulked when he was.

Your wrap up comments were also a little condescending to Peters although I agree he is the most entertaining politician of our times. I too hope he gets back in but because of policies like free doctor's visits for under 6's, gold card, contribution towards foreign affairs, and a raft of other policy gains that are well published.

To the organiser of Eye To Eye

I would strongly advise you to consider carefully any plans to include Mathew Hooton in any future Eye to Eye programme

I say this, not because of his bad language reported to have been used (Which I did not hear) but because of his refusal to enter into the spirit of the debate.

When I first started to listen to this programme, at it’s inception, I was, I admit, critical of the continued interruptions. I soon learned that it was a part of the attraction of the programme and I believe that, only this show, could get away with it and, this is mainly because of the stewardship of Willie Jackson.

With the inclusion of Mr Hooton on Sunday October 12 the whole tenor of the show was changed as real animosity was introduced and, what I have considered to be one of the attractions of the programme, became a detraction, also, a distraction

I realise that, due to the upcoming election, the show may be discarded for a while, but I do hope that because of what I have outlined, it is not cancelled as it does put a shine on my Sunday T.V

I watched your show 'Eye to Eye' this morning for the first time and it reinforced views that I already held regarding certain panel members, their egos, their infantile behaviour and their insignificance.

The first was that Doug Woollerton is an individual of unimpeachable mediocrity.

The second was that Winston Peters is as cynical as he is idealistic, as self-absorbed as he is disinterested, as cunning as he is candid, is susceptible to the grossest flattery and has the ability, honed by years of practice, to ruthlessly wrench any worthwhile debate away from the matter under discussion to that of the promotion of his prodigious ego. Indeed an individual with no credibility.

The third was that anyone who shouts another down as Peters and Hooton did has absolutely nothing to say.

Overall, it was just another Punch and Judy show with the usual dollops of mischief-making and made-to-measure moralising combined with the sort of "gotcha" political points-scoring that has become such a defining feature of the current campaign.

Who the hell is Hooten and why is he on TV? I wish Ron Mark was there to clip the twit around the ear. He (Hooten) had nothing constructive to say and acted liked an ill disciplined 4 year old child. In the face of constant hateful badgering from the idiot Hooten, Winston showed why we need him at least in Parliament if not Government - he still got across some insightful points on the economy and the actual issues up for debate. That was the first time I had heard of or seen Hooten and my conclusion is that he is a twit. I wont be tuning into any media that has him on.
